On May 1st, 2012, everyone in New York who leaves their house or looks out their window will see public art as part of an historic MayDay celebration. Here are just some of the projects underway, with details about where you can see them and how you can participate in their creation.

What is it? A performance of the quote by Paul Robeson: ‘We ask for nothing that is not right, and herein lies the great power of our demand.’ Paul Robeson (1898 – 1976) was an American actor, singer, scholar, athlete, writer, lawyer, trade unionist and social justice advocate. The son of an escaped slave, he was at the forefront of the civil rights movement.
Where can I see it? Union Square rally between 4 - 6 pm.
How can I help? 1) Be part of the performance! We need 17 people, one for each word in the play, to wear T-shirts and perform choreographed movements. 2) Help document the piece via photography and video.
